Memorial Day 2010
Hi folks,
Here comes the programme of our 8th Freddie Mercury's Montreux Memorial Day which will be once again FREE OF CHARGE for everybody!
September 3rd - Friday
8 p.m : Warm welcome of all fans near the statue by Peter Freestone, Norbert and Rita
8 p.m. – 9 p.m. : Dinner time: get your F&B near Freddie’s statue
9 p.m. – 11 p.m. : A special programme is being prepared with Peter Freestone under the Market Place. Due to technical problems we have to cancel the show « The Barcelona Project » for this evening. The Saturday show will go ahead as planed at 9.15pm.
September 4th – Saturday
10 a.m. :Optional boat ride to the Lake House with the presence of Peter Freestone. (CHF 18.- /pp, Euros 13.- /pp, to be paid onsite, no booking).
11 a.m. : Optional boat ride to the Lake House (CHF 18.- /pp, Euros 13.- /pp, to be paid onsite, no booking).
11.30 a.m. : Welcome message at the statue by montreuxmusic team
11.30 a.m. – 1 p.m. : Lunch time: get your F&B near Freddie’s statue
12 a.m. : Optional boat ride to the Lake House. (CHF 18.- /pp, Euros 13.- /pp, to be paid onsite, no booking).
1 p.m. : The Royal Squeeze Box from Germany, an amazing performance. Check HERE.
2 p.m. : Queen Alive, great Italian cover-band. They will perform on the frying pan in front of Freddie’s statue.
4 p.m. – 5 p.m. : Tea At The Palace: get the cake Peter prepared for Freddie at the place he spent many nights (CHF 18.- /pp, Euros 13.- /pp). Tickets sold at the statue up from 1 p.m.
5.30 p.m. : The Royal Squeeze Box from Germany: amazing performance!
6 p.m. : Dinner time: get your F&B near Freddie’s statue
7.30 p.m. : Dragon Attack stunning Italian cover-band with great Queen music with something special! They will perform on the frying pan in front of Freddie’s statue.
9.15 p.m. : The Barcelona Project from Norway. Free show under the Market place with over 35 people on stage performing Barcelona + Queen songs.
11.15 p.m. : Dragon Attack performing on the frying pan in front of Freddie’s statue. Stunning show with video projection!
11.55 p.m.: Celebrate Freddie! The Montreux Municipality is offering all Freddie fans wine from its vineyards, near the statue.
September 5th – Sunday
10.30 a.m. : Tea At The Palace: get the cake Peter prepared for Freddie at the place he spent many nights (CHF 18.- /pp, Euros 13.- /pp)
12 a.m. : Optional boat ride to the Lake House with the presence of Peter Freestone (CHF 18.- /pp, Euros 13.- /pp, to be paid onsite, no booking)
12.30 a.m.: Lunch time: get your F&B near Freddie’s statue
1 p.m. : BOHEMIA a group of Czech musicians playing Queen plus a song created for this event!
4 p.m. : End of the 8th Freddie Mercury’s Montreux Memorial Day.
During those 3 days you will have time to take food at your leisure, to taste Indian food (Freddie loved Chicken Dhansak, Samosa etc), Indonesian food (Freddie enjoyed eating at The Blue Elephant Restaurant in London), or taste our local food, Sausages, Lasagnes or various cheeses and fruits from our mountains. There will be plenty to drink as well. Of course!
